Expat mugged in Feni
Masked 'neighbours' took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Tk 12 lakh from an expatriate on Feni-Sonaimuri road at Alatali Bazar in Daganbhuiyan upazila early yesterday.
Family members said Abul Kashem, son of Abdul Haque Dealer, arrived in Dhaka from Greece, three to four days ago.
His wife Sumi Akther and father went to the capital to receive him. On Monday evening, they started for home by a private car.
When they reached near their house at about 3:00am, a gang of 7/8 waylaid them and snatched away around 7000 Euro, a mobile set and gold ornaments.
During the incident, face of mugger came out of mask and Abdul Haque could identify him.
At this, the muggers stabbed Haque and Kashem indiscriminately, leaving them injured. The gang also beat Sumi Akther when she tried to resist them.
