'Rapist' attacks victim's family
An alleged rapist attacked the family members of the victim in Mandalpara area of Badarganj upazila on Saturday night.
Asaduzzaman Chowdhury Sablu, chairman of Bisnupur union, said Subash Chandra Roy, 45, of Bujruk Khordobag village, forcibly took a seven-year-old girl to a sugarcane field and violated her at noon.
Hearing her screams, the parents of the victim, who were working at a nearby paddy field, rushed to the spot, rescued her.
Later they protested the incident.
At this, Subash and his family members beat up the parents of the girl mercilessly, leaving them injured.
The injured were admitted to the upazila health complex, said the chairman.
A case was filed in this regard, said Prithwish Kumar Sarker, officer in-charge of Badarganj police station.
Police are raiding different areas to arrest the culprits, the OC added.
Meanwhile, the mother of the victim said, following the case, the attackers were giving them death threats.
