3 poachers held with gecko in Netrakona
A team of undercover Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested three illegal wildlife traders in Durgapur upazila on Friday.
They also recovered a foreign made revolver, a pipe gun, three bullets and a gecko, locally known as takkhak, from their possession.
The arrestees are Billal Hossain, 30, of village Lohargora, Matiur Rahman, 32, of village Bakoljura in Durgapur upazila and Abdur Rashid, 31, of Monsura village under Purba Dhola upazila.
Rab-9 sources said the team led by Captain Towhidul Islam Chaklader, in guise of buyers, approached the traders at around 5:00pm.
They arrested the trio red handed when they demanded money after showing the gecko, said the captain.
Later the team seized the arms from them.
