5 houses gutted in Rangpur
Five houses were gutted on Wednesday night at Joydeb village in Gangachhara upazila of the district. Locals and fire service sources said the fire originated from a burning mosquito coil at one Shafikul Islam's cowshed and soon engulfed the nearby houses of Rafiqul Islam, Sajeda Bewa, Shahin Mian and Mukul Mian. The fire gutted 13 rooms of the five houses damaging all the goods and valuables. Affected families claimed that the damage caused by the fire would be around Tk. 20 lakh.
