Birth anniversary
Today is the 102nd birth anniversary of late Abdus Salam, Language Movement veteran and former editor of now defunct The Observer, says a press release.
He was one of the founders of Jatiya Press Club and Press Institute and also a member of East Pakistan Law Council.
A milad and iftar mahfil was organised by Samajik Sangskritik Andolon at Dhanmondi in the capital after Asr prayers yesterday.
A discussion will be held at Jatiya Press Club in the capital on August 25.
