BSF picks up two cattle traders
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) picked up two Bangladeshi cattle traders from Kisamot Nizzoma village along Sree Rampur border under Patgram upazila early yesterday.
BGB sent a letter at noon to BSF, demanding return of the two Bangladeshis, BGB officials said.
The two cattle traders are Shohidul Islam, 30, son of Azizar Rahman of Jhalongi village and Sayeedul Islam, 36, son of Siraj Uddin of Belerbari village along the border.
Sree Rampur BGB camp officials said, the two cattle traders were picked up by BSF men of 35 Battalion Rani Nagar camp in Jalpaiguri district of Paschimbanga at around 4.30am.
BSF however told BGB that the two were caught red handed with eight cattle in Indian territory when they were trying to cross the border.
On Friday, a Bangladeshi and an Indian were injured when BSF opened fire at Kalaroa border of Satkhira.
The critically injured Bangladesh national was admitted to a clinic at Bagachra of Jessore at around 8pm on the day.
The incident took place in Gobindapur area under Swarupnagar PS in India, opposite to Hijaldi border in Kalaroa upazila.
Bangladeshi national Husen Ali, 25, who was inside Bangladesh, sustained bullet injury in his thigh while Indian citizen Sobed Ali, 26, was hit in the abdomen.
