'Bring killers of school student Ripon to book'
Hundreds of students and locals agitated in the city yesterday, demanding punishment to the killers of a school student in May.
They formed human chain in front of Rangpur press club at 11:00am and later brought out a procession in the city.
The procession paraded the main streets of the city and gave copies of a memorandum to the DIG of Rangpur Range, Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur and SP of Rangpur.
Addressing the human, the participants strongly protested the killing and urged the authorities concern to ensure punishment to the culprits.
Jeba Begum, mother of victim Ripon, also spoke at the human chain.
The speakers alleged that on May 14 night, three local youths killed Ripon, 18, a class nine student of Mahiganj Afanunllah High School and son of Belal Hossain of Bara Rangpur village in Sadar upazila. Police are yet to arrest the killers, they said.
