DYF man shot in Khagrachhari
A member of the Democratic Youth Forum (DYF) was injured as a gang fired gunshot at him in Baraitali area in Sadar upazila yesterday.
The victim was identified as Nitu Chakma alias Milon, 26, son of Priteemoy Chakma of Khiyanghat area under Mohalchhari upazila. He was a member of the district unit DYF, a front organisation of anti-peace accord United Peoples Democratic Youth Front (UPDF).
Quoting the victim, Officer in-charge of Khagrachhari Sadar police station Mostafizur Rahman said, an armed gang numbering 3 to 4 sprayed bullets on Nitu in Baraitali area around 09:30am while he was standing with his friends in front of a tea stall.
Milon was hit by a bullet in his left chest, said a doctor at a local hospital.
