Masked gang kills man, injures 3 of his family
Masked criminals stormed into a house, killed the owner and injured three of his family at Kalikapur village in Bancharampur upazila early yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Jahir Mull, 52, of the village.
According to family, police and hospital sources, a group of 3-4 masked men knocked at the door of Jahir's house at around 1:30am.
As Jahir opened the door, they entered the house forcibly and started to stab him with knives and sharp weapons indiscriminately.
They also stabbed Jahir's wife Khairunnesa, 38, daughter Jasmin Akter Sunia, 20, and son Md. Babu, 18, when they tried to stop the attack.
Jahir died on the spot. The body was sent to Brahmanbaria Sadar hospital for autopsy.
Contacted, OC Md. Alauddin of Bancharampur PS said the murder might be a sequel to a past enmity.
A case was filed with the police station in this connection. However, none was arrested till filing of this report yesterday evening.
