English language fairs held under English in Schools (EIS) programme, a joint initiative of The Daily Star and mobile operator Robi, saw lively participation of young learners from nine more high schools of Moulvibazar, Kurigram and Kushtia districts yesterday. Adcomm Ltd is the creative and event partner of the English language fairs. Our staff correspondent from Sylhet reported that over 200 students of Srimongal Government Girls' High School, Bhunobir Dasharath High School and BTRI High School in Srimongal upazila of Moulvibazar district took part in the English language fair held at Srimongal Government Girls' High School auditorium in the morning. Arati Dev, headmaster of the girls' high school, inaugurated the fair. After watching The Lion King, a globally renowned movie, the students spontaneously responded to questions in English. Later, they participated in other events including situation-based question-answer, extempore speech, role- play and vocabulary practice. Md Fahad of Robi conducted the programme. In Kurigram, at least 250 students of Nageshwari Government Girls' High School, Nageshwari Dayamoyee Pilot Academy and Nakharganj BL High School under Nageshwari upazila of the district joined the fair held at Nageshwari Dayamoyee Pilot Academy auditorium, reports our correspondent. Headmaster KM Anisur Rahman of the school opened the fair at around 11:00am. Following screening of The Lion King, a globally renowned movie, the students participated in spot quiz, vocabulary test, one-word question and quick questions--all based on the movie. Selected students took part in extempore speech on different topics and role-play. Our Kushtia correspondent adds: Students of Kushtia Government Girls' High School, Dinomoni High School and Kushtia Police Lines School and College took part in joyful activities at the English language fair held at the girls' school auditorium in the morning. After watching the movie, The Lion King, over 150 students from the three schools participated in spot quiz, vocabulary test, one-word question and quick questions--all based on the movie. Selected students took part in extempore speech on different topics and role-play. Robi representative Solaiman Haque conducted the programme.
