Bail prayer of police official rejected
A court yesterday rejected the bail prayer of a police official held on charge of killing his wife.
AZM Moniruzzaman, now posted at Habiganj Police Line, is a prime accaused in the case for killing his wife in 2010.
The then officier in-charge of Belabo police station in Narsingdi, he allegedly killed Selina Afroza, daughter of Alhaj Ismail Hossain for dowry at their rented house at Sankipara in the town.
Later Moniruzzaman allegedly dumped the body of Afroza on Mymensingh- Jamalpur railway line at night.
Moniruzzaman was on bail from the High Court.
He appeared before Mymensingh Women and Children Repression Prevention Court yesterday for fresh bail but Ataur Rahman, the judge of the court, turned down the prayer.
