Student dies falling from bus
A college student died after falling off the roof of a moving bus in Balohar bus stand area in Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenidah early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Mahsin Ali, 20, a second year (honors) student at Jessore MM College, and son of Shafiqul Islam of Boga village in Moshespur upazila.
Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) at Kotchandpur police station, said the incident occurred as a roadside tree hit Mahsin felling him down when he was traveling to Jessore from Mosherpur on the roof of a bus of Bandhan Paribahan around 10:00am.
Locals rushed him to Kotchandpur upazila health complex where on-duty doctor declared him dead, he said.
The body was sent to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the OC said.
A case was filed with the police station.
