Man hacked to death
Middlemen of diagnostic centres hacked an assistant to a physician to death in Sylhet city yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Aslam Uddin, 30, from Lakhaura in Sylhet Sadar upazila.
Sources said Aslam locked into an altercation with middleman Ramjan Ali over commission in front of the chamber of a surgery specialist at the doctors' chamber area in the city. At one stage, Ramjan and some other middlemen hacked Aslam with a sharp weapon.
He was immediately admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries after a few hours.
