Developer fined Tk 5 lakh
Department of Environment (DoE) yesterday fined a developer Tk 5 lakh for earth filling in a lake of Pathalia in Savar.
The DoE Director (enforcement) Muhammad Munir Chowdhury yesterday fined MDC, the developer, and asked it to remove the earth from the water body to bring back its earlier look within seven days, says a press release.
After being informed by locals, a DoE team visited the lake on April 2 and found the developer filling the lake with earth.
