Death anniversary

Today is the fourth death anniversary of Dr Basudeb Datta Ray. He was actively involved since 1941 in the struggle for freedom of the Indian subcontinent from the colonial powers of the British. He worked for the Quit India Movement in 1943. He was the founder secretary of North East India Council of Social Science Research and the founder principal of Women's College, Shillong. Born in 1924 in Bankura town, West Bengal, he also worked in All India Congress Committee and St Edmund's College, Shillong.
