10 students win Ctg history contest
Students of Radiant School and College tested their knowledge on the history, culture, literature, traditions, and heritage of Chittagong through a contest yesterday.
Around 200 students from the school section participated in two parts of the competition-- written test and quiz (MCQ).
Ten students, five in the written test and five in MCQ, won the contest. In the written part, students wrote on the theme of “Indomitable Chittagong”, while in the quiz test they answered 20 questions on the history, culture, tradition and heritage of the port city.
The competition was arranged by Radiant School and College as an extension programme of “Odommo Chattagram”, a 12-day festival hosted by The Daily Star, which ended Tuesday.
Raisul Huq Bahar, Chittagong bureau chief of The Daily Star, spoke at the award giving ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners.
He said, “Chittagong has vast and affluent heritage. The young students should come forward to learn and discover these".
Educationist Prof Hasina Zakaria, Business Development and Marketing Manager of The Daily Star Shahriar Shahid, and Deputy Manager (Accounts) of The Daily Star Alim Al Rabbi, were present at the programme, among others.
