Old man burnt alive in Ctg

Our Correspondent, Ctg
An old man was burnt alive while two tin-shade rooms were gutted in a fire in the port city yesterday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Nur Mohammed, 70, of Khejur Tola in Patenga. The fire had originated from an electric short circuit in one of the rooms and burned to ashes the two rooms, owned by Abdul Hakim and Shaheen Banu, said fire service sources. Nur, a resident of one of the rooms, could not come out and was burnt alive. Two units of CEPZ fire station rushed to the spot but the fire stopped burning before their arrival as there was nothing adjacent to the rooms to burn.
