Two illegal brick kilns bulldozed
The Department of Environment (DoE), in a drive, yesterday destroyed two illegal brick kilns with drum chimneys at Nangolkot upazila in Comilla.
It bulldozed Sultana Razia Bricks and Madina Bricks and seized around 2.40 lakh pieces of bricks and other materials worth about Tk 18.5 lakh, said a press release.
The local DoE officials with the assistance of law enforcers conducted the drive.
Destroying around nine acres of agricultural land, these two brickfields had been operating illegally, polluting the rural environment.
