Torture on Kadar: Charges against OC Helal accepted
A Dhaka court yesterday took into cognisance the charges brought against Md Helal Uddin, former OC of Khilgaon Police Station, in a case filed by Dhaka University student Abdul Kadar.
Kadar had sued the cop on January 23 for torturing him in custody and falsely implicating him in several cases.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mizanur Rahman passed the order and also rejected a bail plea of the accused.
Helal was sent to jail on Monday upon his surrender before the court.
