Sakku back in BNP
Following BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's direction, the party withdrew its expulsion order on Comilla City Corporation Mayor Monirul Hoque Sakku.
“The expulsion order of Mayor Monirul Hoque Sakku was withdrawn as per the party constitution following his appeal before the chairperson,” says a party press release signed by BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
The party had expelled Sakku, who won a landslide victory in the maiden Comilla city corporation election on January 5 against ruling Awami League backed candidate Afzal Khan, for participating in the election.
