RU BCL men stab Shibir leader

A group of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists of Rajshahi University (RU) unit yesterday allegedly stabbed an Islami Chhatra Shibir leader of the unit. The victim Ruhul Amin is president of Shaheed Habibur Rahman hall unit of Shibir and also a fourth year student of RU Marketing department. Sources said around twelve BCL men; led by Takim Ahmed, a dropout student of Philosophy department, Saddam Hossain Tipu, a master's student of Fine Arts department and Parvez Ahmed, a master's year student of Islamic History department; caught Ruhul Amin in front of the hall and took him to a room of the hall at around 3:00pm. Resident students of the hall said the BCL men severely stabbed and beat Ruhul with knife, iron rods and hammers and left the room when he got unconscious. Motihar police rushed to the spot and sent him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) with severe injuries on head, chest, hands and legs.
