Musa Ibrahim, with his indomitable spirit, has set an example that youth can achieve victory no matter how hard the obstacles are, said speakers at a book launching ceremony yesterday. It is the youth who can conquer all the problems of the country, they said, urging all to patronise sportive and positive things that inspire the young generation. Musa is an ideal for such youth, speakers added. The launching ceremony of the book titled “Pahar Churar Hatchhani - Keokradong Theke Everest” (An intrinsic call to mountain - From Keokradong to Everest) by Musa Ibrahim, the first Bangladeshi to conquer Mount Everest, was held at the city's National Museum. Published by Bangla Academy, the book portrays Musa's adventurous journey from Keokradong to Mount Everest. “Musa is a kind of pioneer, our hero,” said Justice Muhammad Habibur Rahman, former chief adviser to a caretaker government, after unveiling the book. His book would be an inspirational one for us, the former chief justice added. “We see, read and hear much bad news but the news inspires us,” he said. Prof Jamilur Reza Choudhury, former vice-chancellor of Brac University, said the motto of Musa might be like 'give me a challenge, I will overcome it'. None but Musa undertook such a challenging task in the country that inspires the youth, he said. Media personality and Awami League lawmaker Asaduzzaman Noor said, “We have achieved a victory which is our War of Liberation and we have many more victories to conquer ahead. Here the youths will be the power.” Musa stressed the need for creating a role model before the young generation so that they do not get derailed. Tasmima Hossain, editor of the fortnightly Anannya, said everybody should read this book to know the country better. Bangla Academy Director General Shamsuzzaman Khan, Prothom Alo Deputy Editor Anisul Haq and freedom fighter Ansar Ali, Musa's father, also spoke at the ceremony.
