Doctor ‘kills himself’
A retired doctor of National Medical College Hospital allegedly committed suicide after jumping from the rooftop of the hospital at Sutrapur in the city yesterday.
The deceased is Shamsuddin, 68, of Azimpur.
Police said Shamsuddin got admitted to the hospital with old age complications on Thursday afternoon. He told a nurse to look after his cabin saying he would go for Juma prayers.
Witnesses said they suddenly got a sound of falling down. Police suspected that he went to the rooftop on the seventh floor and jumped down for 'committing suicide'.
Family members said Shamsuddin might commit suicide due to frustration over deteriorating his physical condition.
