6 students punished for stalking
A mobile court sentenced two college students to six months imprisonment on charge of stalking female students at Khalishakhali village in the sadar upazila on Thursday evening.
The accused are Sayed Khalifa, 19, and Miraj Howlader, 19, of the sadar upazila.
Ahsan Ullah, executive magistrate, delivered the judgment.
Patuakhali police said the two used to stalk many school and college girls in the area. Following allegations made by the guardians of the girls, they arrested the accused from Telaikhali village and handed over to the mobile court.
Another mobile court fined four students Tk 16,000 for teasing a female student in college road area of Barguna town on Thursday.
The stalkers Bappe, 18, Munna, 17, Anik Saha, 18, and Dolon, 17, are students of Barguna Govt College.
The court fined Bappe Tk 10,000 while the three others Tk 2,000 each, said police.
The four students had been harassing a female student of Police Lines High School for long, added the police.
