Ashtami Snan begins today

Ashtami Snan, a two-day religious festival when the Hindus take holy bath in the river Brahmaputra, begins at Langolbandh in Bandar upazila today. Hundreds of people from different parts of the country started thronging Langolbandh, a traditional venue, to have the holy bath at 14 different Snan ghats (bathing points). Sources said devotees from several countries like India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Tibet will arrive here to attend the festival this year. On the occasion, a seven-day fair began at Langolbandh.
