Ctg dev necessary for country
Says Mosharraf
Chittagong north district unit of Awami League (AL) President Engineer Mosharraf Hossain MP yesterday said development of the district was necessary for overall development of the country.
He said this at a press conference organised by 14-party alliance at Chittagong Press Club following Tuesday's grand rally of the prime minister at Polo Ground in the port city.
The government prioritised development of the district, he said, adding that it launched the first ever flyover in the city and installed several power plants.
Referring to the industrial park, housing, universities and coal-based power plants which would be established in 50,000 acres of khas land in Mirsarai Muhuri project area, he said the economic face of Chittagong would be changed.
Earlier, general secretary of the AL unit and administrator of Chittagong District Administration MA Salam read out the written statement where he thanked the people to make the grand rally a success.
The city unit of AL president ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, general secretary Kazi Enamul Hoque Danu, Workers' Party of Bangladesh leader Advocate Mohammad Hanif and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal leader Jasim Uddin Babul were, among others, present on the occasion.
