25 hurt in N'ganj clash
At least 25 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups in Baktabali Akbar Nagar area of Sadar upazila in the district yesterday.
Police and locals said at least 100 supporters of Abdur Rahim and Mokter equipped with lethal weapons attacked three brickfields, owned by two brothers Samad Ali and Momtaj Ali, in the morning over a previous enmity.
The clash ensued when the workers of the brickfields resisted the attackers, which left at least 25 people from both sides injured.
Of the injured, Rajib, Ripon, Olid, Akram, Karimullah, Saiful and Shamsul were admitted to Narayanganj 200-bed hospital.
Later, Akram and Rajib were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated.
Police were deployed to avert any untoward incident.
