BSF should be more careful about stopping border killings: Tripura CM
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar yesterday said Indian Border Security Force (BSF) should be more careful about stopping border killings which Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh pledged to stop earlier.
“They [BSF] should remain careful about the killing of people on the border while tackling border crimes. It would be best if they could tackle border crimes without killing,” he told reporters at Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU).
Manik Sarkar received the 'Friends of Liberation War Honour' for his outstanding contribution to the Bangladesh war of liberation.
He said if the central government agrees, his state government can sell 100MW electricity to Bangladesh as it helped Tripura to carry heavy materials of Palatana Power Project in Tripura.
DRU President Shakhawat Hossain Badsha presided over the press meet event.
