Road crashes kill 3

Three people were killed and eight others, including four policemen, injured in separate road accidents in Bogra and Dinajpur yesterday. Staff correspondent from Bogra reports: Three people were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run three-wheeler on Bogra-Rangpur highway at Mokamtola in Shibganj upazila yesterday morning. The deceased are Purnota, 4, Babu Mia, 48, and Imran Hossain, 30, driver of the three-wheeler. The injured were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Following the accident, vehicular movement on the highway remained suspended for nearly four hours since 8:45am as angry locals put up barricades on it. In Dinajpur, a police-van fell into a ditch beside Dinajpur-Rangpur highway at Champatoli in Chirirbandar upazila, leaving four policemen injured yesterday afternoon. Of the injured, Nurul Islam, 35, and Md Hasan, 21, constables of Dinajpur Police Lines, were rushed to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.
