Geeta teaching centre opens
A branch of Geeta Teaching Centre was opened at Gouranga Mahaprabhu Temple at north Maishundi of Tipu Sultan Road in the old part of the city yesterday, says a press release.
Such Hindu religious school is first of its kind in Dhaka. Earlier such centres were established in Chittagong under the aegis of Jyotishwar Geeta Teaching Centre, Shankar Math and Mission, Sitakunda, Chittagong.
Established as the 10th branch of the centre, the school was inaugurated by the Principal of the Sitakunda mission Sreemat Bidehananda Brahmachari while Tapan Kumar Nath, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Industries, attended the occasion as chief guest.
Religious leaders of Hindu community from different parts of the city also participated in the inauguration function.
