‘Appoint Cuet VC’
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology Teachers' Association (Cuetta) has again demanded immediate appointment of a vice-chancellor (VC) for the university.
Mentionable, the post of VC has been lying vacant since the tenure of former Cuet VC Prof Dr Shyamal Kanti Biswas expired on January 28.
The demand was made at a human chain, formed before the university central library yesterday, as part of their earlier declared three-day programmes, demanding appointment of a VC.
The leaders of the teachers at a meeting on March 13 announced a three-day programme. According to the announcement, sit-in and work abstention programmes will be organised in front of the university administrative building on March 27.
However, the class-boycotting by the Cuet students is still going on from March 4 demanding the appointment of a VC.
