Six containers seized at port
Customs officials on Thursday night seized six containers imported under three consignments at Chittagong Port on charge of importing goods under false declaration.
The customs officials got undeclared goods after opening two containers while they will open two others on Sunday and two more on Tuesday.
A four-member probe body led by Joint Commissioner of Chittagong Customs House Jewel Ahmad was formed to investigate the matter, said sources in the customs house yesterday.
Other members of the committee are Deputy Commissioner Mahmudul Hoque, Revenue Officer Omar Faruq and a representative from audit section, they said.
