13 robbers held in Ctg
Police arrested 13 persons in connection with robbery and seized some sharp weapons from their possession in the port city on Wednesday night.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Nazrul Islam of Pahartali Police Station said acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a drive at the embankment near sea beach area in Pahartali and arrested the persons while they were getting prepared for robbery.
The police seized two choppers, a large hatchet, double-edged knife, a sharp knife and a machete from their possession.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammed Alamgir, 25, Enayet Hossain, 30, Zakir Hossain, 32, Zakir Hossain, 30, Mohammed Siraj, 30, Mohammad Shahjahan, 35, Mohammed Shahjalal, 28, Mohammed Rasel, 25, Mohammed Majnu, 25, Mohammed Zafar, 21, Haidar Matabbar, 33, Manju Majhi, 32, and Mohamed Rasel, 21.
