BCL workers assault student at DU
A group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists at Dhaka University yesterday assaulted a student before Teachers Students Centre (TSC) as he protested smoking inside bus.
The victim, Mustafizur Rahman Ovi, a third year student of marketing department, suffered injuries in the head and other parts of the body.
Witnesses said Raju Patwary, a first year student of finance department, along with a group of BCL workers clubbed Ovi with iron rods, cricket stamps, and waist belts around 1:30pm.
Sources said Raju was smoking inside a DU bus, Boishaki, which was going towards the campus from Mirpur 14 in the morning.
