Two fake DB police held in Ctg
Two fake Detective Branch (DB) police were caught on Dhaka-Chittagong highway from Mirsarai upazila in Chittagong yesterday.
The arrestees were identified as Ashek Elahi Rasel, 32, and Amir Hossain, 32, both hailed from the upazila's Abur Hat and Kochua respectively.
The duo, in guise of DB police, with a microbus, stopped a Chittagong-bound LP gas-laden pickup in Boro Takia area on the highway to verify whether the pickup was carrying any illegal item, said Mohammed Mohsin, sub-inspector of Mirsarai Police Station.
On suspicion, locals informed the police.
When police reached the spot, the driver of the microbus fled the scene along with the vehicle but police caught the duo, said Mohsin.
