Two die in road crashes
Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Rangpur and Chapai-nawabganj on Tuesday and yesterday.
An elderly woman was killed in a road accident at Jaygirhat bus stand of Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur on Tuesday.The deceased was identified as Achia Bewa, 70, of Ghonatari village .
Police said a speeding covered-van ran over her while she was crossing the Dhaka-Rangpur highway, leaving her dead on the spot.
In another accident, a boy was crushed under the wheels of a microbus on Chapai-nawabganj-Sonamasjid land port highway at Koilabari of Shibgonj upazila in Chapainawabganj yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Aminul Islam, 7, son of Motajul Islam of Koilabari village.
