Suranjit unhappy over slow pace of war cimes trial
Railways Minister Suranjit Sengupta expressed dissatisfaction over what he termed as the 'slow pace' of the ongoing trial of the war criminals.
He called for immediate formation of a few more tribunals to expedite the trial in order to complete it at the earliest possible time.
He said this while addressing as chief guest the inaugural ceremony of the 10-day-long Independence Fair at Laldighi Maidan on Tuesday.
Awami League lawmaker Engr Mosharraf Hossain inaugurated the fair that was organised by Swadhinatar Chollish Bochor Udjapan Parishad.
Drawing the attention of the law ministry and the tribunal, Suranjit said, “This is an International Crimes Tribunal, not a judge court. Trial could not be held at such a slow pace.”
He said there was no need of evidential act or rule in this tribunal.
