Social welfare dept, MJF sign MoU
The Department of Social Welfare and Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday to implement a three-year long project for the development of seven safe homes, says a press release.
Director General of the Department of Social Welfare Nasima Begum and MJF Executive Director Shaheen Anam signed the MoU.
These safe homes are providing shelter and security to women and adolescent girls who are made accused in different cases. More than 500 women would get benefits under the project, the release added.
Earlier, the MJF completed such a pilot project at Bagerhat and Rajshahi safe homes.
