2 die in road crashes
Two people were killed in two road accidents in Chapainawabganj and Chandpur yesterday.
UNB reports: A minor boy was killed in a road accident on Chapainawabganj-Sonamasjid road at Dhobra Bazar in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.
The deceased was identified as Sabdul Islam, 3, son of Fiarul Islam of Dhobra area.
A speeding lorry hit the boy while he was crossing the road at noon, leaving him dead on the spot.
Our Chandpur Correspondent adds: An elderly man was killed in a road crash in Sadar upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Shamsul Haq Gazi, 75, of Raldia area in the Sadar upazila.
An auto-rickshaw hit Shamsul on Baburhat-Matlob road near Kalibhangti Bridge while he was crossing the road, leaving him injured critically, police said.
Locals rushed him to Chandpur Sadar Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
