Two prisoners die at SBMCH
Two prisoners of Barisal Central Jail died in the prison cell of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) on Thursday.
Yusuf Ali Mia, 53, of Gazipur village in Amtali upazila of Barguna was serving life term while Md Kalu Khan, 50, of Kachipara village in Baufal upazila of Patuakhali was under trial in a murder case.
The jail superintendent Md Abu Sayer said Yusuf died within hours after being admitted to SBMCH in the morning and Kalu was admitted to SBMCH on February 27 and died on Thursday noon.
The bodies were handed over to the relatives on Thursday evening after conducting autopsies, said the jail authorities.
