According to a recent report of Save the Children, 500 million children in the world could grow up physically and mentally stunted over the next 15 years because they do not have enough to eat. The survey was carried out in Bangladesh, India, Peru, Pakistan and Nigeria where half the world's malnourished children live. It is said that the world has made dramatic progress in reducing child deaths from 12 to 7.6 million. But this survey reveals that one third of the parents surveyed said their children complained about not having enough to eat. High food prices throughout the world have worsened the situation. One in four of the world's children have stunted growth. It means that the body and brain of these children have failed to develop properly due to malnutrition. However, it is impossible for any charity to rid all children in the world of malnutrition. It requires affluent people's extended hands to their neighbouring poor families and their children to overcome this situation.
