Seven RU BCL men suspended
Central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) yesterday suspended seven of its leaders and activists of Rajshahi University (RU) unit for assault on a journalist and other unruly activities on the campus.
The suspended are Shah Muhammad Selim, Musfikur Rahman Sohel, Rahajul Alam Ridoy, Al Amin, Tareque Ahmed, Masud Rana alias Bagna Masud and Ruhul Amin Babu.
Of them, Selim, Sohel, Ridoy were suspended for beating up Nazim Mridha, RU correspondent of the New Age, on the campus early Friday.
Nazim said they beat him for filing a report headlined “Chhatra League forces students to join procession” published in the daily.
