Shibir men vandalise 3 Sust buses
Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir activists vandalised three buses of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) yesterday on Electric Supply road at Shahjalal Bridge in the city.
Witnesses said about 10 Shibir activists on motorbikes broke the glasses of the buses by pelting brickbats at 9:45am and left the scene shortly.
Sust Proctor Himadri Shekhor Roy said additional police were deployed on the campus to avert violence.
Sust Registrar Ishfaqul Hossain filed three cases with the Jalalabad, Airport and South Surma police stations in this connection.
Meanwhile, Prothom Alo Sust correspondent Misbah Uddin sustained injuries in his right eye, as he was in one of the buses during the incident. He was admitted to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
