Youth dies as train hits him
A youth died as a train ran over him at Bhairab upazila in the district yesterday.
The deceased is Sohag Mia, 30, son of freedom fighter Manu Mia of Aga Nagar village in the upazila.
Railway police and local sources said Sohag fell down from a Noakhali-bound running train Dhaka Upakul Express when he tried to get down at Bhairab railway station.
Later, the train crushed him at around 8:30am.
Sohag was rushed to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex in critical condition.
The on-duty doctor declared him dead at around 9:00am.
