East Delta University and Chittagong Ideal School clinched the respective university and school level championship titles of “The Daily Star-Dristy Brainstorming Business Case-Solving Competition 2012”. Launched on January 18 in Chittagong city, a total of 30 teams from universities and schools took part in the competition, organised by The Daily Star and Dristry Chittagong, where they solved specific business-related cases. The final round of the competition, in its third consecutive year, was held in a local hotel on Saturday where theatre and media personality Aly Zaker gave away the prizes as the chief guest. The competition is helping the city's young generation prove that they have the quality and skills to present new ideas and successfully implement it in the port city, said Aly Zaker. International Islamic University of Chittagong was adjudged the first runners up in the university level while Premier University was the second. In school level, Presidency International School won the first runners up trophy while Silver Bells Girls High School got the second. Chittagong Stock Exchange President Al Maruf Khan and Vice President Tarik Anam, Chittagong Club Limited President Abu Tayeb, Dristy Chittagong Adviser Nasir Uddin Chowdhury and General Secretary Saif Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion. Dristy Chittagong President Masud Bakul was in the chair while its Joint Secretary Adnan Mannan moderated the programme. The final round adjudicators were Aly Zaker, Abu Tayeb, Al Maruf Khan, Chittagong University Assistant Prof Suman Bhattacharejee , lecturer Anupam Das Gupto, Shanto Banik and Premier University lecturer Fatema Johra.
