60 houses gutted in Ctg
At least 63 establishments, including 60 thatched houses, were gutted in a fire at Jahed Colony in South Kattoli of the port city yesterday.
Other establishments are one garage with 14 rickshaws, a grocery shop and a poultry farm.
The fire originated from a lit mosquito coil in a house around 2:30pm and soon engulfed to the adjacent establishment, said sources.
On information, two Bandor Fire Station units rushed in and doused the fire after two hours of efforts.
The valuables worth Tk 10 lakh were gutted in the fire, said Agrabad Fire Station officials.
