Two factories fined
A mobile court fined two factories Tk 1.2 lakh for carrying out their business activities without acquiring Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) licence and without using their trademark at Rampura in the city yesterday, says a press release.
A joint team of the district administration, police and BSTI, in a drive, fined Shilaidah Dairy Tk 1.0 lakh and Kalam Food and Beverage Industries Tk 20,000 for preserving, producing, and marketing different products illegally.
Dhaka district Executive Magistrate Mohammad Al Amin led the drive.
The court also filed a case against the owner of Kalam Food and Beverage Industries as he went into hiding and the factory was sealed off.
