Four killed, 10 injured in road accidents
Four people were killed and 10 others injured in separate road accidents in Dinajpur, Jessore and Rangamati on Wednesday and yesterday.
Our Dinajpur correspondent reports: A Bogra-bound passenger bus of Akkelpur upazila lost control and drove into a roadside ditch on Akkelpur-Bogra road at Bunagari village at around 9:00am on Wednesday killing a mother and her three year old daughter on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Momena Khatun, 25, wife of Bakul Hossain of Awalgari village of the upazila in Joypurhat, and her daughter Mithila.
Md Anwar Hossain, 35, Zafir Hossain, 50, Asraf Ali, 35, Monira Tasnim, 30 and Shathi, 35, were injured critically and admitted for treatment to Akkelpur Upazila Health Complex.
In Jessore, a microbus driver was killed and three others were injured in a head-on-collusion between a truck and the microbus of Nimtala at Chowgachha upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased is Osman Gani, 30, son of Abdus Sattar of Jafarpur village in Sadar upazila of Chuadanga district.
The injured Hafizur, 36, Mamun, 35, and Rabiul Islam, 28, were admitted to a local hospital.
In Rangamati, a primary school teacher was killed and two other were injured critically when a speeding truck hit a motorbike from opposite direction in Kutukchhari area on Rangamati- Khagrachhari road, some 25 kilometres away from Rangamati town, on yesterday morning
The deceased was identified as Niloy Nishit Chakma, 22, son of Keron Chakma of South Kalindipur in Rangamati town.
His two friends Sumoyan Marma, 22, and Kusum Chakma, 20, were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
