V-Day at Rajshahi
Thousands of ordinary citizens came out onto the streets of Rajshahi city and Rajshahi University campus yesterday to celebrate Victory Day and reiterate the demand for the trial of war criminals.
The celebrations began at a minute past midnight with a 31-gun salute by the district administration at Rajshahi Police Lines.
Afterwards, Rajshahi City Corporation, the district and police administrations and social and cultural personalities placed wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar in Bhubon Mohan Park.
After placing wreaths, people took an oath to stand firm in the demand for the trial of war criminals.
Awami League and some organisations placed wreaths at the grave of AHM Qamaruzzaman, one of the four national leaders, and killing fields in the university and Babla Bon.
