<i>Burka clad women robbers</i>
Female robbers, wearing burka (veil), stabbed a housewife and looted cash and gold ornaments from her house on Tuesday.
Police said, a gang of female robbers entered the house of Md Hasan in Golkuti area of the town at around 1:30pm.
Sensing their presence, the pet dog at the house started barking.
The robbers made the dog unconscious and stabbed housewife Rashida Begum, 40, with a sharp weapon and decamped with 11 tolas of gold ornaments and cash Tk70,000.
Locals took Rashida to Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.
In a separate incident in Brahmanbaria, armed robbers looted 16 tolas of gold ornaments from a jewelry shop at Rasullabad Bazar in Nabinagar upazila on Sunday, reports UNB.
SI Shafiqul Islam of Nabinagar PS said, a gang of robbers numbering 7/8 entered Ranashree Jewelers breaking the lock of the shop and looted the ornaments.
Local traders chased and caught two robbers and handed them over to police.
